Farmer's Law Group, PLLC

A Crop-Law Focused Firm

Originally founded in 2012, Farmer's Law Group features attorneys and legal professionals who excel in individualized and personal representation in agriculture and crop insurance dispute law.  We have represented or advised clients in administrative law proceedings with the federal government in all fifty states.  Likewise, our attorneys have appeared in federal courts across the country, and are licensed in a number of district and circuit courts, as well as the United States Supreme Court.

Our drive for success and quality representation separate us from other law firms.

Our Firm Identity

Our law firm does not subscribe to the "jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none" approach to law that many other firms do.  While our attorneys have a broad knowledge base of business, regulatory, and commercial law, our attorneys focus on only one or two specialties.  We strive for expertise in the subjects we handle, rather than just a general familiarity with the broad aspects of the law.

In the legal industry, this is known as a "boutique law firm" approach to operations.  We will not grow so big that our clients lose their individuality and personal relationships with us, but we have all of the tools and resources of a much larger firm.  This blend of personal representation and litigation resources is ideal for representing farmers and producers against much larger entities like the Risk Management Agency (RMA), or any of the dozens of crop insurance companies.

Our Principles

Our guiding principles have developed over the decade plus that our firm has been in operation.  They are as much a part of our identity as anything else.

  • Controlling Legal Fees & Expenses

Our general rule is that the cost of lawyer representation should never exceed the value of the dispute.  This rule comes into practice in several ways.  First, virtually all of our services are billed on a contingency or flat-fee basis.  This helps to control the overall cost of a legal dispute, and prevent our clients from compounding the damage they have already incurred.  Second, we do not accept cases where we believe the cost will exceed the benefit, or where we believe the likelihood of success is small.  Some firms will collect dozens and dozens of cases just to make their billing hours look good, but we prefer quality over quantity.

  • Individual Representation

We don't believe that cases and clients are all built the same.  Each of our farmers and producers has a different operation.  Local environments and circumstances change the nature of each case.  Accordingly, we do not take a one-size-fits-all approach to litigation.  Instead, our attorneys craft case specific strategies built around your objectives and the facts unique to your case.  Our clients are people, not numbers.

  • Client Communication

Regular and easy contact with our clients is important.  Though our attorneys and staff work long hours every week, it is important to us that you can reach us when you need us.  For that reason, our firm has multiple points of contact.  Our clients can communicate with our attorneys and staff via text message, email, telephone calls, Zoom, and through after-hours answering services.  While we can't be always be immediately available due to hearings, depositions, and other meetings, any message we receive is typically responded to the same day, or the morning of the next business day.  Urgent messages are given priority and are quickly returned if the attorney or staff member isn't instantly available for assistance.
